Too Much Salt is Bad for Your Heath…
How Much is Too Much?

During my over my thirty years of research on sodium (Na) ingestion, I found that according to today’s standards, over 90% of my patients had ingested excess salt (NaCl)…mostly from processed foods.

Because of medical problems like high blood pressure, kidney disease, heart failure, and stroke, half our population should not ingest over 1,500 milligrams a day.

From my past salt research experience, I suspect that most ingest much more.

According to AMA Morning Rounds (10/21/11), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report that most Americans today eat too much salt.

According to Bloomberg News, Lopatto reports, “Almost all US citizens, including children, exceed the dietary guidelines for salt, putting them at risk for hypertension and heart disease…”

The advice, information, and guidelines presented in my writings and talks are not intended to replace medical advice. Whatever you do should be monitored by your physician or other health care professional…Neil Solomon, M.D., Ph.D.
